Party photographer, Santa Barbara

For the toast, the cake, the kids running laps and the hug at the door, photographed the way it felt, so you can be at your own party.

I'm Gabriel, a photographer based in Goleta. I stay out of the way, watch for real moments, and pull people together for a few group photos when you'd like them.

Ask about your date

What I photograph

Birthdays and anniversaries, graduation and retirement parties, baby showers and gender reveals, engagement parties, quinceañeras, bar and bat mitzvahs, holiday gatherings and family reunions.

At home or at a venue

Your backyard, a park, a restaurant or a hall in Goleta and Santa Barbara. I'll ask about the space and the timing so I can be there for the moments that matter, like the cake or the toast.

Gentle direction, mostly unposed

I won't hold up your party. Most of what I take is unposed, and I'll gather the family or the guest of honor for a few quick group photos when you ask.

Plan. We settle the hours and the key moments, like the cake, the toast or the grandparents arriving.

Shoot. I arrive a little early, find the light and blend in.

Delivery. About two weeks later (always within three), your party gallery arrives, edited by me, with full-resolution downloads for prints, cards and the family group chat.

Questions

How much is party photography?

Party photography is $200 per hour, with a two-hour minimum, which is enough for most birthdays and showers. Tell me the date and roughly how many guests, and I'll reply within 24 hours, often much sooner, with the hours and the total in writing.

How many hours do I need?

Two hours is the minimum, and it suits a birthday or a shower: arrivals, the food and decorations, the cake or toast, and a few group photos. A bigger gathering, like a reunion or a graduation party with a ceremony, may want three or four. I'll suggest a number when you inquire.

Do you photograph at my home or at a venue?

Either: a backyard, a park, a restaurant or a hall around Goleta and Santa Barbara. Travel within 25 miles of Goleta is included.

Will you be in the way?

No. I stay close without taking over, and I mostly shoot unposed moments. If you'd like a few group photos, tell me which ones, and I'll gather everyone for a minute.

How is a party different from a family or kids' session?

A party is coverage of the celebration: I follow it for the hours you book and photograph what happens. A family or kids' session is a planned portrait session at a set place and time, with its own set price. Some families book both.

When do we get the photos?

In about two weeks, and always within three. You'll get the whole party, edited by me, in a gallery you can download from in full resolution, ready for prints and thank-you cards.

Tell me about your party

The date, the place and who's coming. I'll reply personally, within 24 hours, often much sooner.
